Caddy
Privacy Policy

Caddy is a local-first iOS app. Most users will never touch our servers. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do.
What we collect
- Nothing by default. Your rounds, courses, clubs, and shot history all live in SwiftData on your iPhone. We do not see them, sync them, log them, or back them up.
- Location, only while a round is active. If you choose to log shot distances using GPS, Caddy uses your location only on the active-round screen and only when the screen is open. We never collect background location, and the data never leaves your device.
- Motion, only while a round is active. When the Apple Watch companion ships (v1.1), motion data is read on your wrist for swing detection. It is processed on-device and discarded. No raw IMU data is uploaded or stored on our servers.
- App Store purchase state. If you buy Caddy Pro, Apple tells your device "this Apple ID is entitled." We never see your card details, name, or email.
What we never do
- We never sell your data. There is nothing to sell — it's on your phone.
- We do not run third-party analytics SDKs, crash SDKs, or ad networks.
- We do not require an account. There is no Caddy account system.
- We do not share data with course owners, equipment manufacturers, or insurers.
